My Little Chloe

Sent the hubs to work, and Chloe is asleep so finally have some time to update the blog. Calvin and I were just reflecting on how quickly time passes by us. With just a blink of an eye, Chloe is now 7+ months. She's now able to sit up without falling over every 3 seconds. She's also started on solids for about a month. All's well albeit a tad messy. She had a bout of constipation but baby spinach helped her bowel moving again.

She's also finally slept trained, which means that this mummy is no longer THAT sleep deprived. As I am typing this, I still can't believe that sleep training actually worked on her. We can now put her down on her cot awake, give her kisses, and walk away and she would fall asleep on her own. She is also actually sleeping THROUGH THE NIGHT... most nights anyway. There are still those odd nights when she would be awake at 4-5am, crying inconsolably but those nights are few and far in between. Overall it's a huge improvement from before when she would be waking up every other hour or so. We actually hired a sleep consultant to help us because I am a wuss of a mummy and could not go through sleep training my baby on my own. She was trained by Dana Obleman who runs the Sleep Sense program. If anyone is interested, you can visit her website here. Money well spent I say.

Alright, time to update Chloe's stats.

Loves: Coconut, Avocado, Cod Fish, Milk
Hates: Squash, Saying bye-bye
Hobby: Playing with her myriads of toys
Latest Discovery: She can spit out food!

Ability: Crawl.. backwards
Super Power: Create gigantic smelly poo and getting mama and papa to clean up after her

Bali in July 2014

So we were in Bali for a friend's wedding back in July. It was by far the most lavish wedding I have ever been to. And because it was a mixed Indian-Chinese wedding, we had a lot of fun dressing up. I had 3 changes of dress for the 2-day event, and the bride had... *drum roll* a total of more than 10 changes of dress!!

Here is one of me in my matronly looking punjabi dress.

The other gals in better looking punjabi-inspired dresses.

Wefie!

No Indian wedding would be complete without a Bollywood dance

The boys decided to end the night by jumping into the pool, very mature boys!

It was a fun and quick get away. Hoping to bring Chloe along somewhere for a holiday, but not sure if it will happen this year as it's nearing year end. Hubby suggested that Chloe and I meet him in Hong Kong for a work trip. But the thought of bringing a baby on board economy class alone is too daunting! Well, let's see.  I might just do it :)

It's September Already?

Time really flies when you're having fun, or when you have a baby! I can't believe my last post was written back in May. Well a lot has happened since then. I went back to work in June, and it was stressful initially but I think I am getting the hang of juggling baby duty + work now. We also made a trip to Bali for a wedding, just me and Calvin without Chloe. That was the first time I was away from Chloe for more than 24 hours! What a big milestone for me. A special thank to my sweet mom-in-law who offered to baby sit her for the weekend.

Then baby Chloe fell really sick on my birthday and ended up getting hospitalised, which was really scary. But thank God she recovered eventually. However my little baby who could sleep through the night decided she didn't want to anymore, and we had a rough couple of weeks waking up every hour or so tending to our little monster. We were so exhausted and desperate, we ended up hiring a sleep consultant.

Fast forward to today, it's our 2nd day of sleeping training our little angel/monster and so far so good. I shall not say anything more in case I jinx it, but will definitely post about it in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

I love you sweet little munchkin even though you are a monster at night!

3 Months!

Chloe just turned 3 month today.. and coincidentally it's also Mother's Day! Gosh I still can't believe I am a mother to a sweet little creature called Chloe.

I am also fully aware that it's just another month before I have to return to work. Which means that I will have to give up on lazy mornings and afternoons nursing the little one, in return for adult conversation and the exciting world of stocks, markets and trading. While I am excited to return to work, I know a big part of me will definitely miss the little one. I wonder how I'll cope. Oh.. the dilemma of a working mother.

This Mother's Day, I would like to give thanks to God for blessing our family with such a sweet bundle of joy and allowing me the journey of motherhood.

A big thank you also to my mummy dearest - I know now how tough it is raising a kid, so a big hug to you for raising us 3 monsters up for the past 30+ years!
